MORE MAYHEM FROM CRAIG by Colin Drury, Sheffield Star Dairy Page

He’s previously published comic books featuring murder around Meadowhall, a killer in Attercliffe and foul play at Bramall Lane and Hillsborough.
Safe to say, the Sheffield which appears in the stories of Craig Daley isn’t the most cheerful place.
Now the graphic designer, from Crookes, has released the fourth work in his quartet of South Yorkshire noir comics - and the killing keeps coming.

Review
Love how this story is set out, it is split into three different tales almost. One takes place in 1873, one takes place in 1973, while the last takes place in 2011. The different time lines have different generations of families in them. The best one I thought was the 1973 one in which a young man and a Police Officer contemplate going into the tunnels under Sheffield in search of the demonic prankster. Has quite a cool horror vibe to it. Another good comic, hypnotic, and entertaining and worth a look at.

REVIEWS
"It’s rare that a comic completely catches me off guard. With this series though, I was caught off guard completely when I read it, so much so that I leaned back in my chair and was like, “Damn… you got me.” around half way through the second issue when the bomb is dropped on you... I was blown away." Comic $astards, US Reviewer gave it 5 out of 5
"Daley’s unique, dry wit is the highlight of his writing. He may write great stories, but when it comes to the closing pages, there’s no one else to compare. CD Comics output has been nothing but a treat to read, with Meadowhell being no exception. Another cult gem." Horror Cult Films UK Reviewer
"So much work goes into giving a realistic bend to his comics that it really sets them apart from others which just do not have the same level of crazy detail... I was really drawn into this world, desperate to find out just what was going on." Rotting Zombie UK Reviewer gave it 8 out of 10

Have a fun read and please do have nightmares.

Rotting Zombie Review The Butcher...

'The Butcher of Banner Cross' has been reviewed by Daniel from Rotting Zombie, who gave this first issue of three and CDComics 4th title in the Surreal Murder Mystery the thumbs up and declared himself 'Excited for the next issues.'

Issue One is priced £1.40/$1.99 or equivalent

'Daley's surreal murder mystery series never fails to be entertaining, the level of research that goes into them, along with truly surreal twists fuse together to create something very original in feel.'

For the full review check out http://therottingzombie.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/the-butcher-of-banner-cross-issue-1-by.html

About the Art 'The usual primary colours and bizzaro look is replaced by pen and ink, all black and white that does suit the morbid tone well and it is good to see none of the background details is lost.'

Sheffield Jungle in 1913

Stainless Steel is about to start going live on the download websites listed below and like all CDComics titles, it is a blend of historical fact and this time steampunk science fiction.

This is a steampunk action adventure comic that celebrates the invention of stainless steel in Sheffield and is set firmly in the real world, just one year before the outbreak of WWI.

Sheffield in 1913 had a resident circus that was known locally as the Jungle and part of the narrative unfolds at that location, so here's a poster marking the last ever show put on by the Bostock Circus.

Sheffield Killer Butcher Comic

Very different finish to the art work back in the day, thanks to Chatri, but this old story of mine is currently being updated and relocated to Sheffield, so will hopefully be the 4th or rather the first in the Surreal Murder Mystery Series.

Sorry, you'll have to wait for the dialogue, but as usual expect the unexpected. It takes place in 1984, six years before Meadowhell: The True Horror of Shopping, but the DCI on this case will be familiar to some, it's Bramley... And this one introduces the Surreal Detective called Punchline.

MPs claim £3,750 each for Thatcher Tribute

MPs returning to Parliament early to pay tribute to Margaret Thatcher can claim £3,750 in expences from tax payers.

How long would it take you to save £3,750 after paying you bills, food, rent/mortgage, general living costs, 1, 2, 3, 4 months, one year, two years or more?

The tax payer will pay for the, in all but name, 'State Funeral' and will also have to pay for Policing of the event as there are concerns over security, as many of the electorate (tax payers) did not share the opinion of the political elite in regards of Thatchers legacy.

The long-term unemployed and the underclass that exist in our society were created by the policies introduced by her Government in the 1980's. Unemployment was 1.4M when Thatcher came to power, she more than doubled that and the numbers have never gone below the 1979 level since, the economic strategy of this country is built on high unemployment. The complete collapse on manufacturing was overseen by her Government and the Governments that have done little to change the situation.

Only 7% of the electorate are educated at independent schools, but they make up 35% of the Members of Parliament. This same elite monopolise all high paid employment in the Private Sector, as C.E.O's of Banks and all other Businesses and even Charities. In the Public Sector, they become Mayors, Police Comissioners and high ranking Civil Servants.

They run this country and have run this country into the ground and will continue to do so, while blaiming the unemployed they create with their political policies.

This isnt the arrogance of youth, this is confidence of certainty

This has to stop, call for equal representation in Parliament, 93% of the electorate are State Educated, 93% of MPs should come form State Schools. Would you support an e-petition to Parliament asking them to debate this lack of equality in Britain http://cdgraphicnovels.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/e-petition-to-parliament.html

Sheffield United Comic

This isn't 'Roy of the Rovers', unless they are playing an away game in the 'Twilight Zone'. Sure it has comic book pages dedicated to match coverage of an F.A. Cup, that sees the Blades face, Liverpool, Spurs, Man Utd, Arsenal and Wolves, but it's not just about football.

It's  more 'League of Gentlemen' than 'League One Round Up,' and here's a few comments made by an independent reviewer.

Football Crazy: The Theatre Of Nightmares On The Road To Insanity, part of the CD Comics Surreal Murder Mystery Series, is certainly a different type of comic, and a world away from the mainstream. Whether you have an interest in the beautiful game or not, there’s enough there to keep anyone hooked, and the fantastically off-the-wall pay off makes for an amusingly different ending to this sort of tale, poking fun at the numerous, seemingly massed produced crime dramas that tend to flood the TV schedules. Once again Jim Rosenthal’s stellar FA Cup draws get sent up in hilarious style, along with regional news programme, Look North, which pretty much hits the nail on the head. With these quirks adding to an overall brilliant story, you really are missing out on some genius story telling if you don’t give Football Crazy a go.
