Following on from the success of their other digital download comics, Sheffield independent comic company CDComics has produced a new ongoing title, Carnacki & Hannay.

Issue One, Eyam: The UFO Mystery

Carnacki the Ghost Hunter returns and teams up with secret agent and James Bond prototype Richard Hannay

In September 1665 the village of Eyam in Derbyshire suffered an outbreak of plague and during the following fourteen months it killed almost two thirds of the population. Exactly, three hundred years later UFO's are spotted over Eyam and the next morning Jenny Taylor wakes up to find that the rest of the villagers have disappeared.
Jenny contacts the Police, who inform MI6 and they call in the army and send in their best agent, Richard Hannay.
Due to the extraterrestrial nature of the abduction Dick White the Head of MI6, also sends for Thomas Carnacki, a private investigator whose speciality is the paranormal. Miss Emma Dodgson, an Oxford, Mathematics and Science graduate is Carnacki’s assistant and the three investigators are faced with an unexplained abduction on a massive scale.

Spring Heeled Jack Independent Review

Hammer Horror style from CDComics Surreal Murder Mystery Series reviewed by Horror Cult Films

For the full review visit http://horrorcultfilms.co.uk/2012/09/spring-heeled-jack-from-the-tunnels-of-hell/ but here's an extract

"The supernatural is explored in Spring-Heeled Jack with the mystery building-leaper, who’s non-stop laughter strikes fear into the common man and woman, being described as a ghost, demon and the devil himself. For centuries, this mischievious figure has tormented the towns and now he has returned in 2011, he must be stopped once and for all.
This is an enjoyable mystery romp with a supernatural edge that makes it all the more satisfying.
You can find Spring-Heeled Jack and CD Comics back catalogue at the following sites, and with each issue being less than £1 each, what are you waiting for?"

That's under £1 or $1.25 for each issue at...

Or in Sheffield on CDRom for £2,50 for both parts at
The Sheffield Space Centre, Broomhill's Galaxy 4 or Record Collector, Rare and Racy, Funhouse at Woodseats or the Blackwells just off West Street.

Meadowhell reviewed at Horror Cult Film

Meadowhall shopping centre is the setting for CDComics two part Surreal Murder Mystery and HCF have just posted an independent review.

Here's an extract
"Daley’s unique, dry wit is the highlight of his writing. He may write great stories, but when it comes to the closing pages, there’s no one else to compare. The bizarre ending is amusingly macabre, with an all too knowing mockery of subtext so blunt it would be worthy of an episode of The Scary Door! So far, CD Comics output has been nothing but a treat to read, with Meadowhell being no exception. Another cult gem."

Both parts are available at the following download sites priced around $0.99/80p depending on format

Football Crazy Part Two reviewed at Horror Cult Films

Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Wolves and Sheffield United all play matches that are covered 'Roy of the Rovers' style in this Surreal Murder Mystery centred on the F.A Cup, but this is football in the Twilight Zone and Juan Vasquez of Horror Cult Film has just read Part Two

So what did he say about the conclusion to this surreal whodunit,

"Football  Crazy is certainly a different type of comic, and a world away from the mainstream. The climax is very funny and one that you won’t see coming. As far as modus operandi go, it is certainly one of the more out-there reasons for serial murder, and makes for one of the most amusingly absurd conclusions. The writing is superb, creative and witty, you really are missing out on some genius story telling if you don’t give Football Crazy a go."

Those are my edited highlights and I hope Juan doesn't mind, so for his full review you need to visit http://horrorcultfilms.co.uk/2012/07/hcf-comic-review-football-crazy-part-two/

You can download each part for around $1.25/77p UK from

Football Crazy Part One reviewed at Horror Cult Films

Part One tells the story of Sheffield United's FA Cup run against the backdrop of a police investigation into the murder of one of their players.

Here are a few quotes from the independent review
"It is a genuine treat to see how well the magic and atmosphere of the FA Cup is captured in comic form."
"There’s also a brilliant detective story in there as well."
"As the story unfolds, it’s difficult not to get drawn in, and try to second guess motives and who could actually be behind it all."
"Like all good comics, Football Crazy seems too short, despite it being 36 pages of nothing but story, it grips from page one."
"Daley knows how to keep the reader enthralled from frame to frame and leaves you wanting more."

Part Two ends the narrative with a twist that follows previous CDComics Surreal Murder Mystery stories.
